July 4th weekend

The Smith Family went down to Belton for the 4th of July...according to USA Today, it was one of the top 10 places to be for the 4th...anyways...Just before leaving town on the 2nd, I took Peyton to the doctor. He was having some trouble with his eye again (from birth a blocked tear duct can take up to a few months to clear up and his got infected again). While in there, Dr. Granger found another ear infection. While knocking on wood, I commented that our boys keep getting infections and Paige has never had one! We had our meds and were off to the Big B.

On the morning of the 4th, we left the house early to get our seat for the big parade. We sat under the shade a tree on FBC Belton property. There was grass for the kids to run around on and shade for Peyton who started napping just before the parade finished. The kids had a great time. One float the kids loved was the huge shopping cart from HEB. Here are a few pics...my dad took more with his camera...

Paige gave us a little adventure that afternoon. We put the kids down for nap. Trooper and I ran to the store to get things to make homemade salsa for the party that evening. While making the salsa, we heard Paige talking. We commented that she was not down yet and then heard nothing again for about 15-20 minutes when she started screaming. I walked in to find her crying because she could not find a way to get back in the pack-n-play. She was trying to climb on the twin bed in the room (I guess to jump in) and could not get up. The funny thing though, she got out of the pack-n-play to eat. My dad likes to make his own trail mix of different nuts and chocolate. Well Paige like some nuts, others were half eaten and on a pile on the table in the room. There was chocolate chips all over the floor (and her face). Who knows how long or how much she actually ate. No nap for Paige today!

After afternoon naps...for 2 out of 3...we made our way to the Thomas' house for the 4th of July party. Trooper, Parker, and Paige swam...Paige has no fear these days! We all ate. Peyton napped. We had to leave before fireworks though...Paige was on her last leg with no nap. All in all it was a great day.

The next evening though...Trooper, Jami, Mark, Mom, and Dad...we all had Mark bring over the Wii. We played Rock Band and Wii Fit for about 3 hours. Long, but fun evening.

It was a great little trip for the Smith family.

Thanks so much for leaving me a comment on my blog about our kids names! How neat that they all have the same names!!! Our Peyton and Paige are twins. We just decided to keep the "p" thing going after our firstborn!

Sweet looking family!
